Its curved silhouette and intricate design require every step of production to be entirely handmade.
Laphroaig 36 Years, designed by Burgess Studio and produced by Nouvel, was conceived as a bottle with a unique identity and its own soul. Envisioned as the result of a fully handcrafted process, the body of the bottle is made from two types of glass: a distinctive green, characteristic of the brand, and a transparent base. This effect is achieved through a glass encapsulation process, which gives the product greater weight and character.
It takes five of Nouvel’s artisans to create each bottle — together, they achieve the right pigment, size, and weight, dedicating approximately three hours to the making of each one. The decoration involves a highly complex silver sandblasting process.
Laphroaig 36 Years is a clear example of the elegance and quality that the skilled hands of Nouvel’s artisans bring to life — turning an idea or design into a true work of art. Each bottle is, therefore, considered an invaluable treasure — where years of tradition and technological innovation converge.
